• Fill the beaker until the downstem slits are just submerged; excess water increases drag and can send water up the neck.
• Place the piece on a flat, stable surface, away from shelf or counter edges; it is stable and heavy, but a fall from height can still break glass.
• Use only correct 18 mm downstems and 14 mm bowls; forcing mismatched joints can chip or crack the ground-glass seats.
• Recommend steady, controlled pulls so the beaker volume and water can handle the cooling, instead of users “chugging” the piece.

Care & Maintenance

• Allow the glass to cool naturally before cleaning; avoid sudden hot–cold changes that can stress the material.
• For routine cleaning, empty old water and rinse with warm water after sessions.
• For deep cleaning, soak with isopropyl alcohol and coarse salt (or a glass-safe cleaner), shake gently, then rinse thoroughly.
